Annual Chlorine Maintenance of NTMWD Water Delivery System to begin March 4th

Maintenance necessary to ensure quality of drinking water
WYLIE, TX – March 2, 2019: The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) is preparing to conduct the annual 28-day water system maintenance of its Wylie, Tawakoni, and Bonham water delivery systems. Maintenance will begin March 4,2019 and conclude April 1, 2019. During the water system maintenance, tap water remains safe for use and consumption. Residents who are sensitive to changes in the water may notice a stronger taste or smell of chlorine.

This annual system maintenance helps optimize the quality of our drinking water and reduce the amount of hydrant flushing necessary during the warm weather months. Less hydrant flushing during the summer helps conserve water.
